Dear Parent, Educator, or Youth Counselor:
According to statistics, I should be a high school dropout, on welfare, and addicted to drugs. Statistics say that because these were the characteristics of my family history and background, I was destined for a similar lifestyle. But, none of those things are true for me because I chose to live an UNLIMITED life! Unfortunately, most young people look at their circumstances and believe that all they can be is what they see. They don't understand that failure is a choice, and they must choose to succeed.
Given some of the obstacles our youth face today, it's no wonder they are unmotivated, unsure, and unprepared! I know, firsthand, what it is like to have more cards stacked against you than in your favor. However, I do not believe that you are defined by your circumstances. With the influence of the ultimate motivator--my great grandmother, I learned the importance of using my obstacles as stepping stones rather than excuses!
Some people say "the sky is the limit to what you can do." I say there is NO LIMIT! I believe in unlimited talent, unlimited potential, and unlimited opportunities. I believe in youth!
